Global Entry Interview Guide

This guide will help with everything you need to know to prepare for and book your Global Entry interview at Washington, DC Enrollment Center.

Step 1 - Apply for Global Entry

You must first apply for the Global Entry program through the DHS Trusted Traveler Programs website. You will be asked to pay a $120 fee for a 5 year membership. You will also have to fill out questions regarding your background.

Note: You are able to waive the $120 fee if you pay using one of these travel credit cards .

Step 2 - Wait for conditional approval

After your application has been submitted, you will have to wait for conditional approval. Conditional approval means that you have been pre approved for the Global Entry program, but you need to schedule an interview to finalize your application.

The conditional approval process can take anywhere from 24 hours to multiple months, depending on the volume of applications, your background, etc.

Step 3 - Schedule Your Global Entry interview

Congratulations! You've been conditionally approved for Global Entry. The next step is to schedule your interview at Washington, DC Enrollment Center.

Directions: The enrollment center is located in the Ronald Reagan Building, on the ground level. The enrollment center is located near the Woodrow Wilson Plaza entrance. The Ronald Reagan Building is located next to the Federal Triangle Metro Station (Blue and Orange lines.)

Notes: Please bring a copy of your appointment verification, all valid travel documents (e.g. passport, visas, green card, etc.), and proof of residency (driver's license / utility bill). Applicants must have scheduled appointments in order to interview. “Walk-in” interviews are permitted only for Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) active members, who are in need of updating or adding travel documents to their account profiles; require formal name changes (marriage or other); require formal address changes; or are returning to the enrollment center at the request of the attending CBP staff.
