You must first apply for the Global Entry program through the DHS Trusted Traveler Programs website. You will be asked to pay a $100 fee for a 5 year membership. You will also have to fill out questions regarding your background.
Note: You are able to waive the $100 fee if you pay using one of these travel credit cards .
Start Your Global Entry ApplicationAfter your application has been submitted, you will have to wait for conditional approval. Conditional approval means that you have been pre approved for the Global Entry program, but you need to schedule an interview to finalize your application.
The conditional approval process can take anywhere from 24 hours to multiple months, depending on the volume of applications, your background, etc.

Notes: Please note that the Port of Richmond-Petersburg is a Port of Entry, which performs Global Entry Enrollments on a part-time basis. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins. You must make an appointment through the TTP website (https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/). If the Richmond Enrollment Center states “No appointments available for this location,” then you must select another enrollment center or wait for more days to become available. Once you receive your Conditional Approval, you have 365 days to complete the interview process.
